The North Star Hotel in Melrose is the perfect stop over on the drive up to Lake Eyre.   No-one likes to risk a long drive at night with kangaroos and our ‘Lake Eyre Stopover’ is the perfect solution for weary drivers. 

Arrive at the North Star Hotel anytime in the evening and your key will be waiting for you in an agreed pick up location You can retire to bed knowing that breakfast is taken care of with a continental breakfast basket in your room and you can drop your key back without having to see us.  All rooms have en suite bathroom and tea/coffee facilities. Our “Lake Eyre Stopover” package is just $90 a night and is available Sunday – Thursday. You’ll be on your way to your Lake Eyre adventure feeling refreshed and with a 3 hour start on the drive from Adelaide.

If you have more time available on your Lake Eyre trip then it’s a great opportunity to explore the surroundings of Melrose.  The North Star Hotel is on the doorstep of the Mount Remarkable National Park, which features some of the most beautiful scenery in the Flinders Ranges.
